Share The Love

In the latest Parent's Newsletter I talked about taking our ministry to the next level in the New Year.  We want to be the most effective ministry that we can be; reaching youth where they're at, connecting with them on their terms, for the glory of God.  We have a number of items that would really help our ministry be better equipped for reaching youth both in our church and in the community.  We'd love for individuals or families to help our ministry by purchasing or donating these items.  A list of items will be posted after this weekend.  Please prayerfully consider this opportunity.  If you have any questions, please call me at 610.395.3613.

SYATP

Early this morning, all across the U.S., youth met at their local school's flagpole to sing to God and pray for their schools. This is the first time I've ever been to See You At The Pole, so I didn't know what to expect. I haven't been to a High School in about 9 years, so I felt kind of like the new kid at school, until some of our students from our church saw me and took me in (pretty cool, huh?). I gotta give it to these youth... it was way too early in the morning and it was freezing! It brought to mind many years of walking to my school, going to class, getting wedgies... all kinds of warm memories. With this in mind, here's what I saw:

1. Students gathering as the body of Christ, bringing their school, teachers, and relationships with each other before God.
2. Students who weren't affected by the cold, the earliness, or by other students walking by.
3. A group where everyone had the same goal and where everyone was welcome. It didn't matter who you were or where you went to church.

It was awesome to think that this scene was being repeated at hundreds of other schools; that students all over the U.S. are passionate about God, and passionate about His will for their lives and for their schools. Now, if only we were in Florida and school started at 1pm...
